Find and purchase a phone number

Compare the number’s capabilities, registration requirements and complete price before placing the order.

Find an available number

  1. Open Rent numbers and choose the country.
  2. Choose a state/province when offered, then a geographic area or the required number type. Browse the area list if you do not know the prefix.
  3. Select an available number and check its voice/SMS capabilities against the service you want to use. A country listing is not a guarantee that every number supports messaging.
  4. Compare setup, monthly rental, inbound usage, included minutes and channels. Review additional outbound and optional-feature charges separately.
  5. Read the registration requirements for that exact area and number type. Prepare the requested identity/address evidence under Registration documents.
  6. Review the selected number, account and total before the final purchase confirmation. A number requiring approval can remain pending until its documentation is accepted.

Make the number ring

  1. Find the purchased number under Number inventory and open its editor.
  2. Choose its voice Call Action: Hosted PBX, a SIP destination, or another supported destination. Set the corresponding destination and any failovers in the intended order.
  3. Configure SMS delivery separately where enabled; voice routing does not configure message delivery.
  4. Review the assigned registration record, renewal and channel-overflow settings, then save.
  5. Call the public number and check the actual destination and two-way audio. Test SMS separately if it is part of the approved service.

For Hosted PBX, continue with assigning a number to the PBX. For the channel/allowance distinction, read number pricing.
