Create greetings and audio files

Sign in to the customer portal and select the intended Hosted PBX. Check its name or billing code before editing; each PBX has separate extensions and call routes.

Create an audio file

  1. Choose a clear name such as “Main office — closed hours”.
  2. Select the supported source: upload a recording, record in the browser, record by telephone, or generate text to speech. Telephone recording can place a chargeable call.
  3. If conversion is offered, use it for files that are not already in a supported telephony format.
  4. Listen to the complete result. Check pronunciation, volume, silence and how quickly menu choices are spoken. Accept the recording after reviewing it.
  5. Assign the accepted audio to its IVR, queue, voicemail or call-flow destination, and save that object too.

Maintain recordings without disrupting callers

Use separate files for welcome, closed-hours, invalid-input and timeout messages. Before replacing an existing file, check which routes use it: one file may be shared by several destinations. Call the route after the change and listen to the audio that callers actually hear.
