This tutorial will explain how to provision a Cisco/Linksys SPA941, SPA942, SPA961, SPA962 phone with our Hosted PBX service.
For the purposes of this tutorial, we'll use a Cisco/Linksys SPA942 phone.
Step-by-step guide
First things first: Add your phone mac address on your PBX dashboard.
Make sure you define your phone's mac address in the provisioning dashboard, as shown in the below image:
(Don't forget to select the extensions you need for each line.)
Here's the step by step phone provisioning tutorial:
- Power on the phone
- Use the "Menu" button to access the configuration settings:
- Choose option 14:
- Once phone reboots, go back to Setup and find out the phone IP address (options 9 and then 2):
- Open up the IP address in a web browser:
(click on "Admin", and then on "Advanced") - In the "Provisioning" tab, enter the following string (Profile Rule field):
http://hosted.multitel.net/pbx/autoprovision/$MAC.cfg
(Save and the phone will reboot)
If phone does not reboot immediately, you can use the following URL to make it reboot:http://phone_ip_address/admin/resync - Phone will boot and your extensions will show up on the screen
